What's Happening in Third Grade
September 2016
Literature: Students have recently taken the Reading MAP test. This will allow teachers to differentiate in the classroom and meet the needs of their students. Students are also learning about picking Just Right books, book shopping, and beginning comprehension strategy lessons.
Math: Students are completing rocket math daily within their math block. Students are working on common core standards that meet their readiness level.
Writing: Students are working on their personal narratives about their favorite summer memory. This will be a baseline writing sample that will allow us to see growth as we learn about the writing process this school year.
